Senagapappu Kobbari Pachadi / Coconut Chana Dal Chutney

Chana dal Chutney


Ingredients: 

Chana dal - 1/2 cup
Red chillies - 3
Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup
Tamarind - small marble size
Sugar / Jaggery ~ 1/2 Tbsp
Oil - 1 tsp
Salt

Method:

  1. In a pan, pour oil and fry chana dal and red chillies together under medium-low flame until dal turns golden brown or u get nice aroma. Don't brown it.
  2. Grind dal and salt in a mixer to a fine paste adding small amount of water frequently.
  3. Now add coconut and grind again for few seconds, until it comes out smooth.

That's it! Chana dal chutney is ready and goes well with any kind of dosa/idli/upma or even with curd rice.
