Serves – 2

PKP atukulu -3 Cups
(different from murmura… if can’t get them, can do with murmura also)
Onions – 1/4 cup
Tomatoes – 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves – fistful
Green chillies – 2
Red chilli powder -1/4 tsp
Turmeric – 1/6 tsp
Garam masala – pinch
Peanuts roasted – 2 tsp
Tamarind paste or thick juice – a pea size
Lemon juice – 1-2 tsp (adjust to taste)
Mirchi bajji – 1 (optional)

  1. Mix all the above ingredients except PKP atukulu or murmura and peanuts. Mash with hand couple of times so that all the ingredients and flavors are incorporated well. In chaat centers, they add mashed mirchi bajji also for extra texture.
  2. Now add atukulu and mash & mix with hand for couple of times.
  3. Atukulu absorb the lemon juice, so check the sourness couple of times and adjust lemon juice accodingly.
  4. Finally garnish with roasted peanuts.

That’s it! Mouth watering traditional andhra spicy snack is ready to eat.

Note: This should be eaten immediately, otherwise atukulu will loose freshness.
If need to prepare before hand, mix all the ingredients well, and store. Just before eating add atukulu, lemon juice & peanuts and mix well.
